To have an online presence today is the only way to survive in this highly competitive world. And once a company or individual creates a website, they need to make sure it is Search Engine Optimization(SEO) friendly. There needs to be certain key words and phrases which are inserted which will help get the listed in the major search engines and bring in more business. Internet marketing is the term used by almost everyone today. This is the method by which you market your company, products and services online. Optimization of the net is essential to beat the competition and get up on top in your industry.

Search engine optimization becomes effective when your website is ranked high. That is, when a user types in a keyword, the list displayed as search results must include your site as well. Only then will there be increase in targeted traffic to your site. You can also have pay per click management system on other related sites which will divert traffic to your portal. Being visible in the search engines is the bottom line for any site to succeed and serve its purpose. Else it will be one among the billions of web pages going unnoticed everyday and useless to the company or person who has created it.

Having unique content on your page will also mean you need to adopt a search engine marketing strategy. It becomes all the more important to gain ranking and visibility on the search engines. It’s one thing to get people to visit your site; it’s a whole different ball game trying to keep them coming back for more. This means, not only should your site be interesting, it should also contain all possible optimization techniques, to draw the same people over and over. There are some sites that people visit repeatedly and it is only because it comes up on top of the organic search engine listings when a specific keyword is typed in the search bar.

Back links help you increase your sites ranking and page rank. The more links you have, the higher the ranking you will gain. And if anyone tells you links don’t rank your site, they probably are ignorant of how valuable the rank status is in boosting your site’s popularity and aiding business. Through internet marketing and search engine optimization, you can increase ROI, overall revenue and build your business within no time. Keep in mind the content of the site should be the key factor luring people to your web page, therefore it needs to be fresh, and unique.

So you’re interested in getting to the top of Google! If you’re interested in search engine optimization then there’s about a 98% chance that it’s the reason you are reading this article. In SEO you have two choices you can hire a company to handle your search engine optimization, or you can read about a thousand articles like this one and learn how to do it your self in doing this I would also learn a little about html, and find a way to do some sort of keyword analysis because if you can not change your text on your website, and you choose worthless key words then your site will not be associated in the right category therefore you will not make any sales.

If you’re still reading this then you’re looking for the great hidden secret to getting to the top of Google. In order to rank high in Google you have to do two things have a better word score then anyone else for your keywords, and have more links coming to your site from sites with high page ranks. In getting a high word score you need to have some text on your home page and in this text you need to mention your keywords as many times as possible. When you optimize your web site for keywords you are basically getting your site ready for search engine optimization which in all reality is just getting incoming links to your site.

Before you submit your site to the search engines you should have a good amount of keyword rich text, Meta tags (Which are not obsolete by the way), a robots Meta tag, and a Google sitemap. Once you have done all these things you are ready to get some links to your site (this is how you get to the top). When you have incoming links to your site it matters a lot that those sites have high page ranks for example if you have a site with a page rank of 7 linking to you then Google’s algorithm will crawl your site every 24 hours which is very good.

There are some things that could have a negative effect on your ranking with the search engines these things are called black hat SEO tactics. You do not want to do anything to get your site black listed in the search engines. Before Google and all the other search engines changed there algorithms SEO Company’s and webmasters would use some techniques to get to there links to the top like hiding text, hiding links, link malls, and link farms. You should avoid anything that might have a negative effect on your page rank.

There is a lot more to Internet Marketing then just search engine optimization however search engine optimization is where it all starts. Search engine optimization improves the volume and quality of traffic to your web site. Before optimizing your site you should have knowledge of how search algorithms work, and research on what people looking for your site search for to get to it. This is one of the key factors in having a productive website, and achieving a good page rank.

Know Your Audience When Marketing Online

Know Your Audience When Marketing Online

Internet marketing is quickly becoming one of the most popular advertising options available. The Internet reaches a worldwide audience and is available 24 hours a day.

For this reason more and more potential customers are turning to the Internet for a variety of reasons including researching products and services and making purchases. As more and more consumers turn to the Internet for these reasons, it is important for businesses to establish an online presence.

This is so important because failure to do so may result in their competitors gaining an edge over them in competing for sales. While it is important for business to begin Internet marketing campaigns it is also important for these same businesses to realize basic advertising principles still exist and they cannot neglect these principles. Most importantly those who advertise online have to be aware of who their target audience is and how to reach this audience.

As with any marketing campaign, business owners should do some market research before they launch their Internet marketing campaign. Ideally this will involve hiring a research consultant with a great deal of experience in conducting and evaluating this type of market research. The results of this research should determine the basic demographical information for the target audience. The results should also include information on how to reach this target audience.

A business that cannot afford to hire a consultant to conduct this market research should still make an effort to obtain this information on their own. This can be done through informal polls of current clients. This information may not be as comprehensive as the information obtained in a more formal study but it can still provide a great deal of insight into the best way to reach the target audience.

Once this information is obtained, it is important to tailor the Internet marketing campaign to appeal to the target audience. There are a number of different variables which can be modified to ensure the right message is reaching the right people in a manner they can understand and in which they can relate.

Some of the ways in which your Internet marketing campaign can be tailored in this way include the aesthetics of your website or advertisements, the wording of your copy and the use of more advanced design features such as audio and visual or interactive tools.

The aesthetic appeal of a website can greatly contribute to how the website is viewed by the members of the target audience. A website which is designed to attract the attention of an older generation with more conservative tastes should include muted colors, clean design and conservative graphics.

This will help to ensure the target audience enjoys the website. Conversely if you are looking to appeal to a younger audience with more liberal viewpoints you might chose to design the website with bold colors, eye catching graphics and creative design features.

The copy you include on your website should also take your target audience into consideration. Consider the examples of a conservative and a liberal audience listed above to create a better understanding of how the copy on your website can appeal to the target audience. When marketing to a more conservative audience, the copy should be tailored to use formal language and use facts to back up viewpoints.

However, when you are marketing to a more liberal audience or a younger audience you can consider using less formal language which is likely to appeal to the target audience. You can also focus more on emotion to express viewpoints.

Finally, when a website is created for the purposes of Internet marketing it is important for the design of the website to appeal to the target audience.

You may wish to include audio and video clips on your website but these clips should appeal to the target audience. For example if your website sells skateboards you might consider incorporating audio clips from punk rock bands as opposed to country music bands. There may be some skateboarders who enjoy country music but in general punk rock music more closely represents the skating culture.

Keeping these details in mind is very important for Internet marketing.

Australia's New National Broadband Network (NBN)

The National Broadband Network In Australia.

The National Broadband Network (NBN) is a no brainer It will seem so obvious and logical in hindsight - interestingly, just like most great ideas There has been a lot of talk recently within the ITC community about the potential impact of the NBN, in fact electronic forums and blogs have been filled with possible ideas. However it is already clear that many of the perceived advantages will not be immediately obvious to the general public.

I should emphasise at this stage that I am not aware of a single thinking person within the ITC industry or academia who does not wholeheartedly support this infrastructure.

The simple reason being that the country's competitive position in a globalised 21st century economy will be severely compromised to do otherwise. Of course what we read, hear or see in the traditional media (not online) is often quite critical and all I can say is: "Think about their self-interest for a second" and you be the judge of why that is so. I believe we will all (including the mass media) look back favourably on the NBN in twenty years time the way we now do about the country's last major infrastructure works, the Snowy Mountains Hydro scheme.

It will seem so obvious and logical in hindsight - interestingly, just like most great ideas. The real question that everyone seems to be overlooking is: Why didn't we start earlier? And that's well before the present incumbents in Canberra finally started the ball rolling.
